project goals

summary

Outrageous Coder is a new open source code project.

summary

My primary goal is to quickly build enough of something so widely useful that it will result in very small amounts of financial support to support my continued access to a computer and the internet. More information on this subject.

The obvious need in the internet is the lack of single server module that can correctly interpret and run scripts from any combination of PHP, Python, Ruby, and Perl. I have a multi-step plan for achieving this goal. This should break down existing barriers between the major web scripting languages and make life much easier for programmers all over the world.

There is nothing particularly complicated in this project. The two major problems are conflicting licenses and the time for coding.

Ruby, Python, and PHP each have their own custom license. Perl uses the GNU GPL. The only way around this quagmire of competing license requirements is to write all new software without ever looking at the original source codes.

This leads to the second problem: time. Again, the coding is not complicated, but it takes significant time to build a parser and engine that runs any combination of the major scripting languages.

While this capability is obviously extremely useful, it is also clearly of absolutely no business or economic value. If it had business value, then something this simple would have been written a long time ago.

I currently have the time and barely enough equipment to create this project and give it away to the entire world for free. I do actually need a small amount of financial support (less than $200 a month) to do this work after the 30th of this month (from time of writing this sentence) and am blatantly asking for that financial help.

The obvious methods for obtaining this simple goal are simply not available to homeless people, such as myself.

KickStarter is not aa reasonable option because KickStarter requires Amazon Payment which in turn requires a bank account.
